“I enjoy collaborating with the plan sponsors to obtain the most effective contributions to benefit the company as a whole, and really like calculating the new comparability contributions. It’s rewarding to work with the plan numbers to determine how to get the non-discrimination tests to pass.”

As one of the Pension Administrators at TBA, I review the retirement document to make sure it’s in compliance with the plan specifications. I also inspect the census data that clients provide, and scrub it to perform all the annual coverage and non-discrimination tests. Finally, I prepare the Form 5500 and all related schedules for clients.

I’ve been in the retirement industry for more than 35 years, and have always held a job where I performed everything from A to Z. I was most attracted to TBA by the structure of the company. I like how there are many departments within TBA, and each department has its own function. This allows me to devote my time to what I enjoy the most – the annual testing and contribution calculations.

Going forward, I’m looking forward to passing the ASPPA tests and obtaining my credentials. I’m excited to learn as much as I can with Cash Balance plans and how they benefit the clients. I look forward to working closely with my coworkers and spending many years with TBA.
