“I enjoy collaborating with other professionals who work in the retirement plan space to help a shared client solve an issue or improve their retirement plan set-up.”

In my role for TBA, I consult with Financial Advisors, Platform Wholesalers, and other referral partners to bring new clients on board. This involves building relationships with Advisors (and/or their prospective clients) and providing education on TPA services and the value that the TBA service model offers, as compared with alternatives. Since TPA services represent a specialized niche in the Financial Services space, many Advisors depend on my expertise when it comes to retirement plan compliance, and will bring me into point-of-sale meetings to be the “subject matter expert” on their team.

After graduating from college in 2002, I got involved with the financial services space with a focus on Life Insurance. That eventually led to a brief career as a fully licensed Financial Advisor, with the ability to work with clients in all areas of the financial services. In 2004, I got an opportunity to pivot from being a generalist in the profession to more of a specialist, focusing on the retirement plan space (401(k) and IRAs) by hiring on with a 401(k) provider. In this role, I was an Education Specialist who would visit our clients’ locations to hold enrollment meetings for the 401(k), as well as build relationships with the Plan Trustees and/or HR staff in order to effectively troubleshoot issues.

I joined TBA in 2012. I was drawn to them because they’re a locally based, family-oriented firm with a reputation for providing quality work to their clients. I enjoy collaborating with other professionals who work in the retirement plan space to help a shared client solve an issue or improve their retirement plan set-up. One of the best compliments that I’ve received was on my first sale of a “start-up plan” where the Business Owner and Financial Advisor were both impressed and appreciative of the time that was spent answering questions and setting up a plan design that directly addressed their goals. They had previously spoken with other providers, but said that no one took the time to listen to their concerns and answer all of their questions the way that I did. I’m happy to uphold the TBA standard for quality and service.
