My role at TBA is in Defined Contribution Plan service. This includes reviewing and interpreting plan documents, amendments, notices and summary plan descriptions, as well as analyzing annual census data and preparing contribution calculations. I perform coverage and non-discrimination testing to make sure plans are compliant. I also prepare annual testing/reports and Form 5500 filings, loan calculations, and review and approve distributions. I enjoy doing many different tasks and interacting with so many different clients. There are challenges and deadlines daily, which I like.

I have been in this industry for more than 21 years, and have administered ESOPs, been a Conversion Coordinator, done daily recordkeeping, managed defined benefit plans and prepared pension calculations. In the defined contribution world, I have held jobs doing the same duties as my current position at TBA. 

The ability to work remotely was my first attraction to TBA. When interviewing, I remember being impressed with the involved recruitment process, as well as TBA’s employee retention rate – people have worked here a long time. Of my time here, one of my favorite memories was from our all-staff meeting in March 2016. We had presenters from both M3 Learning and Improveit! I think we all had a blast and learned a lot, not only about how to work well together, but also just getting to know each other better. Since several of us work remotely, it helps to spend some time together face-to-face. I love that we all get together twice a year.
