“What I find most rewarding is assisting people, whether it be to fill out a form or a status on their distribution. It’s always a very important situation when you’re dealing with someone else’s money.”
What attracted me to The Benefit Advantage (TBA) is that it’s a woman-owned business with a very long and successful history. I was amazed at how many current employees have worked for the company for more than 20 years. Normally, most people don’t stay at a job that long, so it’s nice to see employee longevity at a company, which speaks volumes about the firm as a whole.
Previously, I was a teacher for eight years, a daycare assistant director and director. I also worked for a financial group as an administrative assistant to the owner of the company. I bought and sold stocks under his supervision, prepared paperwork and worked closely with a broker dealer to process distributions for participants. Recently, I worked for one of the oldest fiduciary companies in the country, starting out as a payroll administrator and continuing to work for them as a distribution processor for three years, managing more than 1,200 distributions a month.
My position at TBA involves answering the customer service line, working with client questions, helping with paperwork or directing clients to the employee who can help with their questions. I send out paperwork or fund company instructions and help participants fill out requests for distributions and loans. If there’s anything missing in a distribution request, I’ll help locate it and make sure everything needed is there.
TBA is giving me the chance to work in a positive environment, with driven individuals and a strong team. I am truly looking forward to learning more about this business and advancing my position within the company.
